Successful Presentation and Admission of Four Chiefs into the Traditional Council of Bonny Kingdom
It is heartwarming to announce that the recent presentation and admission of four Chiefs on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th March, 2024, with two Chiefs presented per day, into the esteemed Traditional Council of Bonny Kingdom was a resounding success. Those significant events not only honoured the rich cultural heritage of Grand Bonny Kingdom, but also symbolized a new chapter of leadership and tradition. The meticulous planning and seamless execution of those ceremonies exemplified the unity, respect, and reverence within Bonny community.
His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Edward I, Perekule XI, Natural Ruler and Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom, extends his heartfelt gratitude to God, the Bonny Chiefs’ Council, Elders and Members of the four Chieftaincy Houses, as well as all individuals who played pivotal roles in ensuring the successful and dignified admission of the new Chiefs. Your dedication, support, and commitment were instrumental in making the ceremonies a monumental success.
The Amanyanabo acknowledges the collective effort and unity that made those occasions truly remarkable.
On the other hand, in the light of ongoing disputes in some Houses over succession to the Chieftaincy Stools, His Majesty urges all parties involved to seek amicable resolutions rather than resorting to prolonged legal battles and unnecessary litigations. The Titled Citizens Assembly and Ibanise Kubiri are more reliable and credible alternatives for mediation and resolution.
The King emphasizes the importance of preserving the cultural heritage and unity of Bonny Kingdom by finding peaceful solutions to such conflicts. He encourages truth, sincerity, dialogue, mediation, and compromise to uphold the dignity and integrity of the traditional institution.
His Majesty, along with the Bonny Chiefs’ Council and people of goodwill of Bonny Kingdom, congratulates the four newly admitted Chiefs and their respective Chieftaincy Houses on this significant achievement.
Being part of the esteemed Traditional Council is a testament to their leadership, dedication, and commitment to upholding the values and traditions of the Bonny Kingdom. Their inclusion would hopefully enrich the Council and strengthen the bond within the kingdom.
