AMANYANABO REITERATES HISTORICAL FACT THAT CHIEFTAINCY WAS STARTED BY KING PEREKULE, AS HE ADMITS TWO CHIEFS INTO THE TRADITIONAL COUNCIL

The Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom has sounded a reminder to those who may not know the history behind the Chieftaincy institution in Bonny Kingdom that it was King Perekule who created Chieftaincy that has now become peculiar to Bonny Kingdom.
His Majesty made this clarification during the first lap of the epoch-making admissions of two Chiefs in one day, when former Wari-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday was officially presented and admitted into the Amanyanabo-in-Council as a Country-Chief (Se-Alabo) of Bonny Kingdom.

While addressing the audience immediately after admitting Wari-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday into the Council, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, Edward I, Perekule XI, Natural Ruler and Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom said:
“You may not like my face, but I will tell you the truth all the time. We cannot pretend with things that are fundamental. For me there is no compromise on fundamentals. We must ensure that the right thing is done at all times. We cannot blow hot and cold at the same time and expect people to accept it like that, no. Bonny has a tradition; Bonny has a history, even though some people are trying to write their own history. But true history is true history – Perekule started Chieftaincy in Bonny; all the Chieftaincy Houses are the creation of this institution. I will not for any reason whatsoever fail to uphold the truth.”

His Majesty, who mentioned that the new Chief of Jim-Halliday Chieftaincy House had not been admitted into the Traditional Council since his capping/installation four years ago because of some circumstances which was no fault of the Council’s, prayed that now that he has finally been admitted, Se-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday would contribute positively to the overall development of Bonny Kingdom. He expressed optimism that the Chief of Jim-Halliday Chieftaincy House has all it takes to be a very successful Country-Chief of Bonny Kingdom.

“I believe you would contribute positively in building a more united Bonny Kingdom” His Majesty concluded.
Earlier in his post-admission speech, Se-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday said the four years of waiting was a period of “anticipation and enthusiasm” for him. He assured “His Majesty, Bonny Kingdom and the ancestors” that he would contribute his ultimate quota as a new “rookie Se-Alabo” to the overall development of Bonny Kingdom.
Se-Alabo Benjamin Dagogo Adda-Allison; President of Titled Citizens Assembly, Amaopusenibo Barr. Furosigha Julius Wilcox and Sir Festus Pepple all gave words of advice and encouragement for Se-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday and the members of Jim-Halliday Chieftaincy House.

It would be recalled that Se-Alabo Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday was installed and capped as the Wari-Alabo of Jim-Halliday Chieftaincy House on Saturday, February 22, 2020 to become IGIRI VI.
In a similar development, His Majesty, the Amanyanabo of Bonny Kingdom also admitted into the Traditional Council, the Chief and Head of Jack Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House, former Wari-Alabo Iganima Jack-Manilla Pepple, thereby setting the historical precedence of admitting two Chiefs into the Council in one day, as well as ending the 124 years of Chieftaincy interregnum in the Jack Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House.

While delivering his address after admitting Se-Alabo Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple, His Majesty said:
“When it is God’s time, nothing and nobody can stop it. It got to a point when the name of the House was almost changed; and I kept wondering what extent people can go in order to achieve their personal objectives.” His Majesty added that he was happy that Jack Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House has finally come to the Council, while expressing conviction that Se-Alabo Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple was destined to be the Chief and Head of the House.

His Majesty advised elders and members of Jack Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House to continue to work closely with their Chief because “this is when the actual work begins.”
“The expectations may be too high, but remember that he is only one man. But I will also advise the Chief not to try to do everything by himself. You are no longer a politician; so you are not playing politics with anybody; always try to do the things your conscience tells you to do. Always do the right thing” His Majesty advised.

In his inaugural speech as a Se-Alabo of Bonny Kingdom, a visibly elated Chief Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple continued to thank His Majesty for making the day a reality. He pledged his total submission and unalloyed loyalty to the Perekule throne, and promised to key into His Majesty’s vision of making Bonny Kingdom an enviable place.
Se-Alabo (Barr.) Abel Attoni, Amaopusenibo (Sir) Fadi Banigo and Amaopusenibo (Barr.) Samuel Finiel Hart lent their voices to advise and encourage Se-Alabo Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple who was installed and capped in 2022 as the Chief and Head of Jack Manilla Pepple Chieftaincy House (GBOBOITEMEGHA NCHEKE IV)With the admissions into the Traditional Council of Se-Alapu Elliot Kalada Jim-Halliday and Iganima Jack Manilla Pepple, His Majesty has successfully concluded the first phase of the dual admission and presentation in one day.
